According to the Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus by Pope Pius XII, the Assumption of Mary is one of the four Marian dogmas of the Catholic Church, defined on November 1, 1950. It declares that Mary, the Immaculate Mother of God and ever-Virgin, was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life.
This special day reminds us that Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, now lives with God in heaven. It is a beautiful invitation for everyoneโadults and children, Catholics and people of all faithsโto come together in prayer with Mary as a loving mother who cares for all her children. Let us pray with her and ask for her guidance, united by faith and hope.
Today, the Pilar College community marked this celebration with great devotion. Everyone was present in the Eucharistic Mass in honor of the Feast, presided over by Rev. Fr. Larry Miranda, CMF. During this blessed occasion, the RVM Sisters also renewed their vows, affirming their commitment to their sacred calling.
May this Feast fill our hearts with peace and inspire us to follow Maryโs example of love and devotion.
